Construction Supervisor

Anvil Fence & Access Systems, Clifton Park, NY

Anvil Fence has an opening for an individual to supervise technicians who install, service, repair and/or rebuild gates and gate systems. The Supervisor will work up front to plan projects, coordinating material and equipment deliveries, acting as the liaison with project owners and/or other contractors. This position requires up to 100% travel.

Qualifications

  • Individual must be mechanically inclined and able to operate equipment.
  • Ability to perform heavy physical labor, lifting up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical, obtain security clearance and a clean driver’s license are required.
  • Previous installation experience in the perimeter security industry is also required.
  • Electrical and welding skills are preferred.

Mechanical Designer

Qualifications

  • An AAS in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks weldments, mechanisms, assemblies and MS Office.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to understand engineering specifications/tolerances and analyze designs for cost savings is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Manufacturing and fabrication experience preferred.

MECHANIC (Second Shift)

The Fort Miller Co., Inc., Greenwich, NY

The Fort Miller Co., Inc. is seeking a mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair on- and off-road vehicles and equipment. Typical equipment consists of fork lifts, dump trucks, bucket loaders, concrete mixer trucks, yard trailer jockeys, truck cranes and other related construction type vehicles.

Qualifications

  • Five to ten years of experience as a mechanic.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required.
  • Diesel engine experience preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends.
  • Truck driving (CDL) or equipment operation experience is preferred.

Installers

Anvil Fence & Access Systems, Clifton Park, NY

Anvil Fence & Access Systems has several opportunities for commercial/industrial fence installers. Training is provided for this position which works approximately nine months per year.

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform heavy physical labor.
  • Reliable transportation and a clean, valid drivers’ license.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and a high level of motivation.
  • OSHA 10-hour is preferred.

Welders – MIG and FCAW

Fort Miller FAB3 Corp., Greenwich, NY

We are now seeking experienced welders to join our growing team on second shift. Our welders are involved in MIG and FCAW welding of steel forms, the manufacture of municipal equipment such as spreaders and dump bodies as well as general metal fabrication.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years MIG and FCAW welding on mild steel.
  • Experience with stainless steel preferred.
  • Excellent mechanical skills.
  • Ability to read shop drawings and follow verbal instructions.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • AWS certifications, including D1.1, D1.6 and D1.3, are desired.

Design Engineer

The Fort Miller Co., Inc., Greenwich, NY

The Fort Miller Co., Inc. has an excellent opportunity in our engineering department as our business supporting heavy highway construction throughout the northeast continues to expand. This individual will assist in the overall design and technical effort necessary to support the engineering, sales, production and product development of precast concrete products, including design calculations and the preparation of detailed manufacturing drawings. Regular interaction with consulting engineers, contractors and/or government entities to obtain approval of manufacturing drawings is required.

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Construction experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as daily interaction with engineers, contractors and public agencies is required.

Civil Engineering Technician

The Fort Miller Co., Inc. has an entry level position available that will support our Design Engineers in the preparation of detailed manufacturing drawings to be used in the production of precast concrete products for the heavy highway industry.

Qualifications

  • AAS in Civil Engineering, Construction or a related field.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.

Precast Laborers – Full time and summer hires

The Fort Miller Co., Inc., Greenwich, NY

The Fort Miller Co, Inc. is hiring full time and summer, entry level precasters. If you like to work with your hand, this is a great opportunity for you! Our precasters are responsible for the set up and preparation of forms, pouring and finishing of concrete and the stripping of forms. Precasters are also responsible for general housekeeping duties such as sweeping, cleaning and putting away tools.

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform heavy physical labor.
  • Ability to withstand exposure to diesel fumes, extreme temperatures and form oil/concrete.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • One to three years experience in a construction or similar environment preferred.
