Design Engineer

The Fort Miller Co., Inc., Greenwich, NY

The Fort Miller Co., Inc. has an excellent opportunity in our engineering department as our business supporting heavy highway construction throughout the northeast continues to expand. This individual will assist in the overall design and technical effort necessary to support the engineering, sales, production and product development of precast concrete products, including design calculations and the preparation of detailed manufacturing drawings. Regular interaction with consulting engineers, contractors and/or government entities to obtain approval of manufacturing drawings is required.

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Construction experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as daily interaction with engineers, contractors and public agencies is required.

Civil Engineering Technician

The Fort Miller Co., Inc., Greenwich, NY

The Fort Miller Co., Inc. has an entry level position available that will support our Design Engineers in the preparation of detailed manufacturing drawings to be used in the production of precast concrete products for the heavy highway industry.

Qualifications

  • AAS in Civil Engineering, Construction or a related field.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.

QA Technician

The Fort Miller Co., Inc., Greenwich, NY

Fort Miller has an entry-level opportunity for a detail oriented, hands on individual. This individual is involved in performing required testing of raw materials and plastic concrete, fabricating and testing concrete cylinders, and maintaining accurate logs of test results.

Qualifications

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of integrity.
  • Level I ACI certification is required and the associate must be prepared to sit for the next test when it is offered.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Rebar Associate

The Fort Miller Co., Inc., Greenwich, NY

The Rebar Facility of The Fort Miller Co., Inc. seeks an individual to assist in the preparation of rebar for placement in our precast concrete products. Duties may include scraping and painting rebar, material handling, cutting and bending of rebar.

Qualifications

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to withstand exposure to paints, diesel fumes and cutting oils.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends.

Batch Plant Driver

The Fort Miller Co., Inc., Greenwich, NY

Fort Miller has a full time opportunity in our Batch Plant for a safe and reliable Driver to deliver and place concrete throughout the plant, providing excellent service to the production process. This individual is also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of his or her delivery vehicle and the Batch Plant work area.

Qualifications

  • One to two years of experience operating equipment in the construction and/or manufacturing environmente.
  • Excellent housekeeping skills.

Maintenance Assistant

The Fort Miller Co., Inc., Greenwich, NY

The Fort Miller Co., Inc. is looking for a mechanically inclined and safety conscious individual to assist more experienced maintenance associates to safely perform a variety of construction and/or repair tasks. This includes welding and cutting operations as well as minor mechanical repair projects. He/she also assists by retrieving parts and/or supplies needed for the maintenance area. This associate performs routine housekeeping tasks, such as sweeping, cleaning, etc.

Qualifications

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate basic hand tools and power tools, such as grinders and saws.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends.
  • Ability to weld, operate a cutting torch and read blueprints is preferred.

Carpenter’s Assistant

The Fort Miller Co., Inc., Greenwich, NY

The Fort Miller Co., Inc. a full time opportunity for an entry level carpenter’s assistant. The associate in this position will work with carpenters to help build, set-up and repair complex wooden or composite forms. This associate also creates simple structures, such as boxes, shelves, etc.

Qualifications

  • Ability to operate all carpentry tools safely, accurately and efficiently (both power and hand tools).
  • Ability to read basic shop drawings.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends.

Installation Technician

Fort Miller FAB3, Greenwich, NY

FAB3 Corp. has an immediate opening for an Installation Technician who is passionate about equipment and machinery and takes a tremendous amount of pride in his or her work. This individual works independently to install truck bodies, dump bodies, flatbeds and other highway equipment. Knowledge of vehicle electrical and hydraulic systems is required.

Qualifications

  • Three or more years of equipment installation experience.
  • MIG welding/fabricating skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience with pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Familiarity with automotive wiring and the ability to read electrical schematics.

Precast Laborers

The Fort Miller Co., Inc., Greenwich, NY

The Fort Miller Co, Inc. is hiring full time, entry level precasters. If you like to work with your hand, this is a great opportunity for you! Our precasters are responsible for the set up and preparation of forms, pouring and finishing of concrete and the stripping of forms. Precasters are also responsible for general housekeeping duties such as sweeping, cleaning and putting away tools.

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform heavy physical labor.
  • Ability to withstand exposure to diesel fumes, extreme temperatures and form oil/concrete.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • One to three years experience in a construction or similar environment preferred.

Manager – Engineering

The Fort Miller Co., Inc., Greenwich, NY

We are actively seeking a Design Engineer to work with our existing team to design complex precast and pre-stress concrete structures, including structural and design calculations and the preparation of detailed shop drawings. Our Design Engineer provides technical assistance to our manufacturing facility, consulting engineers, contractors and government agencies as needed and also supports the sales effort through design feasibility analysis and the discussion of precast concrete design fundamentals.

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • PE License.
  • Five years of management experience.
  • 7 – 10 years of design experience.
  • 5 years of management experience.
  • Well versed in all applicable codes and standards of the precast/pre-stress industries.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, LRFD and all Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Manager – Production

The Fort Miller Co., Inc., Greenwich, NY

This position has ultimate responsibility for safety, quality and productivity throughout our production facility. Our Manager – Production is also involved in proactively reviewing incoming and managing ongoing projects, working with Team Leaders, Supervisors and Managers to complete all work in the safest and most efficient manner possible.

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.
  • Professional Engineer license and MBA preferred.
  • Five to seven years of demonstrated hands on management experience.
  • Precast concrete knowledge, including product forming, pouring, curing, handling, storage and shipping. Pre-stress manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, including oral presentation and writing skills.
  • Excellent decision making skills.
