Our History
Olle and Margaret Hedbring purchased a small burial vault company in the hamlet of Fort Miller, NY in 1948. The company was originally started in 1939 as Wilbert Vaults Works and a Wilbert, Inc. licensee, a national brand. We continue this relationship today.
At the time of purchase, there were 7 associates. Today there are 475 associate-owners.
The business continued as a Hedbring family business when the original purchasers, currently deceased, retired. It was rebranded using the name Fort Miller and now includes a holding company, Fort Miller Group, and four wholly owned companies: Access Anvil Corp., Fort Miller Precast, Fort Miller Service Corp., and TYMETAL.
In a testament to its commitment to excellence, Fort Miller Group, along with its companies, entered the year 2019 with a transformative goal to transition into an associate-owned and operated entity. Today, this remarkable achievement stands as a testament to the dedication and hard work of all associates.
